sugarpill heart breaker palette review, swatches

I could barely contain my inner excitement when I heard the news. NEW COLOURS! Even better, one of them is a LIME GREEN! aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh only one of my favourites ever. It arrived on my doorstep with a harem of false lashes, Paperdoll, Goldilux and Bulletproof in tow too, but more on that later.

Heart Breaker is a bright, cool toned palette with four shades.

I'm no stranger to Sugarpill. You should know from my previous reviews that I love the smooth silky textures and in your face pigmentation, so naturally I had high hopes for Heart Breaker.

Acidberry is a very vibrant lime green with a near matte finish. I can detect some very slight yellow shimmer in here, but only under the macro lens of my camera. Despite my collection of limes, I haven't got a matte one so no dupes here! It is a little deeper than most though?

Velocity is a deeper matte royal blue. This is darker than Lime Crime Shoe Addict and stained my hand just as much.

2AM is a red purple with a slight blue micro shimmer. I tend to stay away from purples like this because I get worried that it'll make eyes look irritated :/ Pretty though!

And to finish, Mochi is a pale seafoam blue-green with slight silver sparkles. This is my favourite of the bunch! Love it, I'm on a real pastel kick at the moment. Darker and more matte than Lime Crime Troubadour.

These look beautiful, right? I can't wait to dig in and get all bright and poppy over here yeah buddy!

Oh.

Okay. :/ At least Mochi is still nice and there looks like theres still hope for Velocity.

I have never wanted someone I like to be so wrong before but it seems I'm in the same group as Anna here. :( The shadows aren't as soft or pigmented as I'd have hoped. Except Mochi, which is so soft that by swirling my finger in to swatch as per normal I dug out a little dent. This means that its a little more powdery than the others, which have a stiffer formula.

Let's try again with another layer shall we?

Thankfully Velocity and 2AM apply a bit better with a brush however I found that Acidberry and 2AM stayed sheerer and required a bit of packing on. What a shame. :(

How could you, Sugarpill? I trusted you! D: I still hold out hope that I got a bad batch though PLEASE DO NOT LET ME DOWN AGAIN THANK YOU! See them all on the eye here.

UPDATEEEED! i got my replacement pans (but totally forgot to edit this post with the results because I posted the pics on Instagram instead :/)

Formula much nicer! original on top, new ones underneath. Can click to enlarge.

Then... they broke :( Mochi fell out of the pan in big chunks WTF NO
